Pending CRTC approval, Kelowna’s newest radio station 103.9 FM “Castanet Radio” will launch this fall. Castanet.net is British Columbia’s leading online media site known for breaking local news, community events coverage, business marketing and more. With the launch of Castanet Radio, much of this content will also be available on Kelowna’s FM airwaves.
We’re currently seeking a radio professional to join Castanet’s team to help us create and launch Castanet Radio.
As Afternoon Host and Programming Coordinator, your role will be not only be to entertain and inform our audience much like the Morning Host, but to also schedule music, craft balanced logs with commercials, news and information content and live interviews. You’ll also ensure compliance with CRTC rules and regulations and assume responsibility for the content aired on a daily basis. Castanet Radio will be the epitome of local radio and all programming will reflect that mandate. In addition to your on-air abilities, you will also have programming experience, knowledge of music scheduling programs, talent coaching skills and strong organizational and people skills. For this position, we are also seeking a seasoned, mature professional.
Castanet Radio will broadcast from the heart of the brand new Castanet Media Centre in downtown Kelowna. The Castanet Radio staff will be supported by the entire team of management, news, sales, administration, technical and creative staff who currently lead Castanet.
